About Dr. Anderson
Dr. Heidi K. Anderson is a dedicated dermatologist whose interest in medicine sparked during high school, evolving into a deep curiosity for dermatology and the regeneration of healthy skin. At 53, she founded Skin Vitality M.D., a practice in Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch that embodies vitality, defined as the state of being strong, active, and full of energy through innovative skin care solutions focused on renewal and hydration.
With over 20 years of trusted patient care, Dr. Anderson integrates her personal passions as a parent, friend, photographer, and athlete into her professional philosophy, emphasizing integrity, innovation, initiative, and intelligence in every aspect of treatment. Her patient-centered approach ensures thorough exams, personalized strategies, and transparent guidance to address individual skin concerns.
Dr. Anderson’s educational journey began at Princeton University, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Arts & Science in Molecular Biology in 1994, completing a thesis on Genetic Counseling for Breast Cancer. She then obtained her Medical Doctorate from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 1998. Following medical school, she completed a Pediatric Residency at the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine in 2001, before pursuing and finishing her Dermatology Residency at the same institution in 2005. Specializing in both pediatric and adult dermatology, she excels in managing skin diseases, skin cancer correction, full skin exams, rashes, autoimmune conditions, biologic therapies, surgical excisions, laser treatments, Botox, acne, and hair loss.
Originally from a background that fueled her tenacity in medicine, Dr. Anderson is thrilled to bring her expertise to sunny Sarasota and contribute to Upderm’s commitment to exceptional dermatological care.
